Avoiding DPF on Qashqai
Is there an easy way to be sure that the car I am looking at has the pre dpf engine set up? Given the fact that this engine has a dpf from mid 2010 is it better to buy a 2009 N-tek rather than a 2010 Acenta. Both seem to be in the same price bracket.

That would be a fairly sure way of avoiding a DPF on a 1.5 dCi. The other way is to look at the exhaust system. A DPF is a great big, canister like thing hooked directly onto the exhaust manifold or the back of the engine if it has an internal exhaust manifold.
