Broken cam belt - is the engine still safe?
The cam belt is broken on my Peugeot 807. Is it a safe engine still?

I've never heard of a non interference diesel engine so yes, there is likely to be further damage due to valves hitting pistons. To check the combustion chambers without dismantling, you could remove the injectors and insert a probe/video scope. They cost £50 from www.ukhs.tv
