Which Honda CR-V?
I am interested in buying a used SUV. My focus is on practicality, reliability (my current Audi A4 has served me well for 11 years) and something that will not be to costly in terms of petrol and servicing. My budget is £8000-£9000 and I would like to know which model of the Honda CR-V would be recommended as there seem to a confusing amount of different engines and trims.

£8k - £9k gets you a 2007-2009 CR-V 2.2 i-CDTI which (happily) does not have a diesel particulate filter but as a result only achieves EU4. For ride quality and handling the best compromise is 18-inch wheels. Do not buy one with 19-inch wheels because they destroy the ride. Better to buy low spec and newer than high spec and older because with high spec there's more to go wrong. Expect about 40mpg.
