Changing tyres on a Polo BlueMotion
I wrote to you recently regarding low rolling resistance tyres fitted to the Volkswagen Polo BlueMotion adversely affecting ride quality. I have now test driven this model and confirm this is the case. However I like the car so much I am wondering if it would be possible to change the tyres to 'normal' 185/60R15 tyres or would I have to buy a new set of wheels and tyres?

No reason not to change the tyres but I think any of that size are likely to be stiff sidewall low running resistance tyres. You will have more choice at 185/55 R15, but this will make your speedo over-read slightly. A softer sidewall tyre will probably bring a penalty of about 5mpg on this car. Best to disclose the tyre change to your insurer.
