Euro 6 car sales
I would like to clarify exactly what the position is as regards Euro 6 emissions standards. My understanding, which agrees with answers you have given previously on the same subject, is that the deadline for cars to meet the Euro 6 standard is / was 1st September 2015. All new cars registered on or after this date - i.e. everything with a -65 plate - MUST BY LAW be to Euro 6 standard; no ifs, no buts.
However, I raised a query with a significant manufacturer on 2nd September 2015 asking why their website was still only showing information for Euro 5 cars, and I received a telephone call from them a few days later (all credit to them for doing this!).

EU5 cars produced prior to end May 2015 can be sold and registered as new for 12 months (derogation), until the end of August 2016, so long as the vehicles are registered with the VCA.
