Fabia, Citigo or another Yaris? Are there any better choices for a small used car?

We live in the Republic of Ireland with lousy roads and high road tax. We currently have a 2004 Yaris as a second car and feel we wish to buy something newer as a long term choice. We like the look of the Skoda Fabia and Citigo. Should we go for a newer Yaris or are there any other contenders you would recommend?

The negative aspects in www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar come directly from disappointed members of the public. Generally, complaints are greatest where the level of expectation is highest yet the reality is lowest, as is the case with Volkswagens. The new Fabia is hard to criticise with the 1.2 TSI 90 or 1.2 TSI 110 engine, but the Mirrorlink system has come in for criticism. The Citigo, like the Mii and Up, are fun to drive but altogether cheaper products.
