Buying a Jaguar F-Pace
I've waited months for the Jaguar F-Pace but can't afford the 3.0-litre petrol. In dealer queue for 2.0-litre diesel but nervous about bad reports on diesel engines. Is this such a bad option? To be used for mainly short journeys.

We have yet to drive the F-Pace. Its Jaguar 2.0 litre Ingenium engine is chain cam and low CO2 emission, with NOx taken care of by an AdBlue SCR system. But the engine is too new in everything (XE, Evoque, Discovery Sport) for any gremlins to have become apparent. Pity they don't do it with the 2.0 litre 240PS Ford petrol turbo engine. That's very reliable.
