Scrappage deal with Vauxhall - a good idea?

I have a Toyota Previa P reg and wish to use the Vauxhall scrappage deal is it genuine and I am looking for a new car but, I don't have much capital so just basic car. I can buy and sell again (new for old).

It's just a disguised discount. You can get a new Astra Excite at £2k off anyway: Just £10,495 for quite a high spec car, though, of course, the 2015 Astra, not the 2016 Astra. No chance of buying on the Vauxhall deal then re-selling at a profit. No chance at all.
