Faulty used car - where do I stand?

I bought a 2010 Renault Grand Scenic in June of this year from a well know dealership. The car had full service history (last service April 2015). It had covered 39k miles when bought for £7000 (plus p/x).
I now have a major problem, the cambelt snapped 5 months into owning the car (now covered 42k). These belts are meant to last 70k miles / 6 years and it is earmarked on the Renault Service website for change in August 2016.
The warranty we had from the dealer was 3 months. Where do I stand in terms of repairs?

The dealer is liable for any fault that was present or developing on the car on the date of sale for 6 months from the date of sale. So the dealer has to fix it or give you your money back. Law here: www.honestjohn.co.uk/faq/consumer-rights/ Yes, you can also use Section 75.
