Reliable supermini
Dear Honest John,
I am looking to buy a new supermini(which I would prefer to keep for at least 7 years)and having a hard time choosing between the new Hyundai i20 (1.2 petrol) and the Renault Clio (0.9 Tce), reliability and low running costs being the main qualities I'm looking for.
My daily commute consists of two 10 mile trips through light city traffic and my yearly average is about 15000 miles.
In these circumstances, which one would you choose? Are there better alternatives (also more fun to drive)?

Hyundai's 5 year warranty v/s Renault's 4 year warranty swings it in the favour of the i20, even though Renault's 0.9TCe 90 is more fun to drive. The i20 is also a lot easier to reverse-park. The rear styling of the (very attractive) Clio makes this really difficult.
