Nissan X-Trail xtronic

Hi. I am wondering about your opinion of the X-Trail 1.6dci x-tronic. From your other posts I see you rate the 1.6dci and I think it's one of the better engines for not having DPF issues. What is your opinion on the x-tronic gearbox? Is it reliable?

I'm considering a late 2014/early 2015 X-Trail for about 21k. Are there any other alternatives you think I should consider instead?

Reader complaints don't give me the confidence to recommend the xtronic CVT: See www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar reports on the previous Qashqai, the current Qashqai and the Juke with this box. The Toyota RAV-4 2.0i Valvematic Multidrive S has a relatively clean bill of health but isn't very economical. Honda CR-V 2.2iDTEC 5-speed torque converter autos have also been reliable. I know of one with over 100k on it that has been no trouble.
