Scrapping a car - recommendations?
The time has come for me to scrap my car. Do you know of any scrap dealers that you recommend (especially around J25 of the M25)?
And one that I've found on the internet states that the government no longer allow the scrap dealers to pay cash. Is this correct?
If correct, my concern is that the scrap dealers will view the car, take details of my bank account and state that they will subsequently pay the money for my car into my bank account and then expect to take my car away there & then (rather than waiting for the money to clear in my bank). I appreciate that we are only talking about small sums here but what is the law on the subject?
Which brings me around to my first question again, do you know of any scrap dealers that you can recommend (especially around J25 of the M25)?
Thank you for your time.

The best thing to do is to donate if for charity like Help the Heroes via www.giveacar.co.uk/ Scrap metal prices are down again, so a scrappie may only give you £50 - £100. I appreciate this doesn't answer your question, but it's still the best thing to do.
