Do 2011 Audi A4s have a clutch issue?

My car, which is a 2011 Audi A4 2.0 TDi SE Technik 136 4dr, has just had its MOT. Everything was fine except that the tester stated that the clutch was showing signs of wear. The car was registered in July 2011 and has done around 42k miles.

I was surprised to say the least that an Audi that has only done just over 40k miles would be showing signs of wear. The garage stated that this was normal but I was wondering whether this is correct or whether there is an ongoing issue that could cause this that they aren't telling me about.

FYI - I purchased the car with 32k miles on and have driven it normally but clearly i don't know who had it before or how they drove it.

Would be grateful for your thoughts.

The drivetrain incorporates a dual mass flywheel to absorb torque between the engine and transmission and this can eventually fail. Expensive job at an Audi dealer. £1500 - £2000. See: www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar/audi/a4-b8-2008/?sec...d
