electric car and horse box tug
I have a 2 yr old volvo V70 and an 8 yr old x trial (pulling a horse box etc). I do lots of 20 mile journeys and 8 journeys per year of 600 miles round trip in volvo so about 14000 mls in total. I now want to sell volvo, do the above journeys reliably and pull horse box. What 2 (or 3) vehicles should I own!

Lots of electric cars like the Renault Fluence and smaller Citroen C-Zero going cheap now because the market rejected them at their original prices. But Renault does them best and the nicest is probably the Renault Zoe: www.honestjohn.co.uk/road-tests/renault/renault-zo.../ To haul the horses you need something with four wheel drive and capable of pulling the weight. The new KIA Sportage 1.6T GDI petrol model can pull 1,900kg and avoids diesel problems, but if the laden horse box is heavier you might need the 2.0CRDI that can pull 2,200kg: www.honestjohn.co.uk/road-tests/kia/kia-sportage-2.../
