The air conditioning in my Volkswagen Touran is playing up - what's wrong with it?
I have been using the air conditioning on my 2006 Volkswagen Touran. When you switch it on it blows cold. Then, after a period of an hour or so, the blower can still be heard but the volume of air coming through the vents is very limited. Then, if you turn it all off for a while or stop, it works fine again for a while. All the flaps seem to work fine. I also noticed quite a lot of water under the car when I stopped after an hour and a half with the a/c full on. Is this normal?

When you say the volume of air is limited, are you saying that the fan is not blowing the same quantity of air as it did at the start, or are you saying that the air temp is not the same? I cannot see that the air blower would change speed or decrease in operation, but could see that the air temperature could change, which might indicate that it needs recharging. As for the pool of water under the car once stopped, this is ok, and is normal for vehicles fitted with A/C.
