Which engines powers the BMW 235i?
I have a BMW 325i convertible, I love the smooth quiet straight six engine. The current BMW 235i likewise has a straight six, albeit with turbo. Is this the same engine, although presumably updated a bit over the years , or a completely different unit?

The original E93 325i had a 2497cc straight six, while the E93 330i was 2996cc, but the 135i was 2979cc the 335i was and remains 2979cc as does the 235i. The 1M had it too and the new M2 also has the 2979cc motor: www.honestjohn.co.uk/road-tests/bmw/bmw-m2-2016-ro...e
