How can I drain the coolant from my 2001 Volkswagen Passat?

I wish to flush the water out the cooling system in my 2001 Volkswagen Passat, but I don't know where the radiator drain plug is. Can you help?

If there isn't one, simply take off the bottom hose (but be prepared to replace with a fresh hose so have one and the clips to hand).
