DSG problems with Volkswagen Passant
I own a 2015 Volkswagen Passat 1.6. A few weeks ago the car stalled and made strange noises when restarted. The gearbox refused to go into drive and the car was eventually recovered by the dealer. Since then the car has received a software update (and works fine) but the dealer will not tell me what the fault was. Can you offer any explanation?

I guess this is a 1.6TDI and has the dry clutch seven-speed DSG, not the new wet clutch seven-speed DSG. The big problem with the dry clutch DSG is that the synthetic fluid it was originally filled with became conductive and wreaked havoc with the Multitronics. Later boxes were factory filled with mineral oil and should not be a problem until that oil needs changing. It may be you've got away with the remap.
