Should a worn out clutch be covered by the warranty?
I am extremely dissatisfied with my new Suzuki Swift Sport. I bought it from a dealer in Halesowen. Yesterday, whilst travelling on the motorway, I found I could not change gear. The car was towed to a dealer in Warrington. I have been informed that the clutch has worn out. The dealer has said the “fault caused by my style of driving”.
Replacing the clutch will cost £798.75 (parts and labour). The car is well within the warranty period and I believe I could expect either for the manufacturer (or for the dealer) to take responsibility and either fully replace the car (under the Consumer Rights Act 1 October 2015), reimburse me fully for the total cost of the vehicle or at the least reimburse me for the replacement clutch (?). What do you think?

I think the problem is breaking the chain of liability (through necessity) by having the car towed to the Warrington dealer rather than the Halesowen dealer. Refer the matter to Halesowen and I think it will be taken care of. Though a determined driver could destroy a clutch in 15 minutes, they are invariably covered for at least six months under manufacturer warranty. Yours has only lasted three months.
