Towbar electrics are broken - can I take the car back to the dealer?
I have owned my 2007 Skoda Octavia 1.9TDI estate from new. I have been very happy with the car and paid extra for a towbar to be fitted by the dealer. Last week I attempted to use the towbar's electrics for the first time and found it to be faulty.
The wiring doesn't work and I have found out that rather than have dedicated wiring linked with the can bus system a cheap bypass box has been used. Do I have any case against the selling dealer after all of these years?

Nine years is stretching it a bit. But if the towbar does not meet EC Type Approval for towbars fitted to cars post August 1998 then you may have a case.. See: www.witter-towbars.co.uk/towbars/faq1.php
