What do you think of the iShift system fitted to the Honda Civic?

I am contemplating the purchase of a 2008 Honda Civic 1.8 iVTEC EX fitted with an iShift gearbox. This does not have a torque converter but a clutch, as fitted to the 1.4 manual where the changes are made automatically when in auto mode, or manually using steering wheel paddle shifts. It appears that in 2009, torque converter gearboxes were fitted to this range and I am concerned about the reliability and effectiveness of the iShift system. Any advice on this would be most welcome.

A lot of drivers don't like the iShift and can't adapt to it. The fact that the Jazz is iShift-only is hurting its sales (even though they make a proper auto for South Africa at Swindon). I urge you to test drive a Civic or Jazz iShift before committing to buy one.
