Need a cheap, small car with automatic gearbox for £1000

I am looking to buy a small cheap automatic for my 23 year old son to learn to drive in. Ideally £500 - 1000. What should I buy?

If you can find a 1999 - 2005 Toyota Yaris 1.0 or 1.3 4-speed auto, that could be your best bet.
