Could jacking have knocked my Volkswagen's tracking out?

Volkswagen agreed in the end, under their goodwill scheme, to repair my car after a lot of argument. That was a couple of weeks ago, however I have since noticed a dent on the passenger side under the door level strip. Would they have had to jack up my car to repair this ESP? Also, the weekend was the first time my car has been out on a long run and at speeds of 70/80 it's shuddering, so did they also have to remove the wheel and therefore the tracking's out?

The car would be lifted on a hydraulic frame that holds the car at its four jacking points. If there was any wear in the front suspension it could have dropped out of alignment from being suspended.
