Taking my car to university - do I have to tell my insurer?
I am currently looking to purchase a new car but beforehand I want to ensure that I'm doing the documentation for it correctly. My driving licence is addressed to my parents home and I wish to put the same address for my V5. However, I currently study at uni and the car will be kept miles away in another town where I will be living.

No. You have to disclose to your insurer where the car will normally be kept and that will affect the insurance premium. You cannot say it will be kept at the address it is registered to if it won't be, but because you may move around in your university town it is probably best to register the keeper address on the V5C as your parent's address.
