Can I reject my used Tiguan over the emissions scandal?
Six months ago I purchased a used Volkswagen Tiguan from a local dealer. The car was 14 months old and the salesman assured me that the engine was not involved in the Volkswagen emissions scandal. Subsequently I have discovered through Volkswagen's website that this car is actually affected. I have as yet received no official advice directly from Volkswagen. Do I have any recourse against the dealer on this?

Yes. Assuming it's a diesel, this model of Tiguan always was involved in the EA189 Emissions defeat scandal so the salesman lied and the dealership is directly liable to take the car back and refund your money. Obviously if it's a petrol engined Tiguan there is no problem.
