Should I sell on my 2005 Jaguar S-Type diesel before maintenance becomes expensive?
I own a 2005 S-Type Jaguar diesel Sport auto with 84,000 miles on the clock. It is in good condition with full Jaguar service history and one previous owner. It runs perfectly and is a pleasure to drive, but I am wondering whether it would be wise to trade it in for a previously-owned diesel auto estate rather than look forward to future high maintenance/service charges. A Chrysler 300 or similar would meet all our needs - leather interior is a must but speed/power is not. I believe the value of the Jaguar to be only around the £6000 mark - am I correct?

The Jag must soon be needing a change of timing belt and I also wonder how much longer the diesel particulate filter is going to last. So it's not a bad idea to move it on. An 05 with 55,000 trade books at £9625, but the 84,000 knocks that back by about £1800. So more like £7825 than £6000.
