Buying a family friendly SUV - any recommendations?
Six years ago I took your advice and bought a nearly new Ford Focus 2.0 petrol and it has been a great, reliable car. Thanks a million HJ. We now have a one year old baby and need to take lots of kit on long journeys several times a year.
We do about 10k miles per year and we're thinking of getting a used SUV as its a squeeze to get everything in our Focus. What would you recommend? Is it even worth switching from our trusty Focus with 53k on the clock?

I seem to be spending a lot of time in SUVs these days. Ran an HR-V 1.6iDTEC for a year and it was very good. Currently in a Kadjar 1.6dCi 4WD on 17-inch wheels with 60 profile tyres which is very good on rough, uneven surfaces. Two good petrol SUVs are the Peugeot 2008 1.2 PureTech 130 with Grip Control, and the Suzuki Vitara S 1.4T BoosterJet. Q5s nice, but an older used example could work out expensive.
