New baby on the way, which car should we get for £13k?
We have our first child arriving in six months and have £13,000 to spend on a used car that needs to be safe, reliable, spacious and hopefully cheap to run/insure. We need a decent sized boot and are looking at estates as well as hatchbacks. Our challenge is that my wife is short and I am very tall, so we need a car that suits us both. The Skoda Octavia is too big for her and the Fabia estate too small for me. What do you suggest we buy?

Has to be five-doors for lifting the baby/toddler/child into the child seat. A SEAT Leon SW is a bit smaller than the Octavia, on the same MQB subframes. But what's probably ideal is a Citroen C3 Picasso. Short length, tall cabin, lots of space.
