Which model of Mazda MX-5 should I buy?

I'm looking to buy a small sports convertible. I can manage about £10,000. I think in the past you've recommended the Mazda MX-5. Which one would you recommend and would I save much by waiting until the winter?

The 6-speed Sport is the best, so either the previous to current 2.0-litre 6-speed Sport, or the old model 1.8-litre 6-speed Sport.
