Speeding ticket on test drive - what are my rights?

I am selling my car and a prospective buyer took it for a test drive. During the test he went past a police camera van. I asked how fast he was going and he said under 30mph but prior to this I had spotted 34mph on the digital speedo. He has left a deposit for the car and intends to buy it in a few days after arranging funds, but I am panicking I will be left with a speeding ticket because we haven't actually traded on the day of him driving past the van. What legs if any do I have to stand on with regards to this issue?

34mph on the speedo is probably a true 32mph and there's probably nothing to worry about. But this might get worse. Was he insured to drive your car? Did you see evidence that his insurance covered him to drive another insured car? Did your insurance cover the car to be driven by 'any driver'?

If no, no, no, then you face a hefty fine and six points on your licence for allowing him to drive the car uninsured, and that assumes you have a proper handle on the man himself. Otherwise you are stuck in the position of being legally compelled to identify the driver of the car at the time of the speeding offence with the penalty of up to six months in prison for perverting the course of justice if you can't, or taking the rap yourself, which, strictly speaking, would also be perverting the course of justice because it would be a lie.
