Will a tyre repair kit keep my BMW X1 on the road?

I own a BMW X1 (2015) with non-runflat tyres and no spare wheel. Is there an answer to the constant worry of being in limbo with only a tyre repair kit?

Join the AA because their vans now carry universal spare wheels that they will lease to you so you can limp to a tyre depot to get the puncture repaired or a new tyre.
