What is your opinion on importing cars from overseas auctions?
I am considering buying a used Toyota Landcruiser from a UK company that buys at auction in Japan and then imports the car into the UK. Several UK companies are active in this market, they manage the import on an 'Agent' basis, where they source the car for a fixed fee. I would be interested in your feedback on this.

This means that they are acting as your agent to source the car on your behalf, not as a dealer selling to you, so any comeback is limited. But they know this and have their reputations to protect. Check anyone you propose to deal with out by Googling their name and seeing if it comes up on forums.
