I have a three year old BMW 5 Series Touring 2.0d with 60,000 miles on the clock. I bought it new with deposit, monthly payments terminating in August with a final payment of £11,500. Given the growing anti-diesel sentiment and possible tighter regulation, should I be looking to offload the car for a petrol, or hybrid, now? Or, should I keep it and run it into the ground? My annual mileage is likely to fall to around 10 - 12 miles per year, as I am about to retire. My BMW dealer says they have not seen any change in buying trends. They are encouraging me to discuss a new deal, with my current one coming to an end. I prefer estates and cars of this size.
