Is a 1.25-litre petrol car too small for towing?
I have a 2014 Hyundai i20 1.25 and I have recently started towing around 400-500kg every couple of weeks on average around 30-50 miles. The car seems to cope okay but I'm just concerned about the longer term implications on its components. It's also worth noting it's an unbaked trailer so I'm almost always at the unbraked limit (450kg).

That should pose no problem for the car, obviously as long as you don't overload the trailer. The official maximum towing weight is 910kg, so you are well within that.
