I know that some new cars are advertised at a high discount with low mileage because dealers have to meet expected sales figures - but what is the real significance for the buyer?

In March, manufacturers with cars that would have suffered a steep price increase due to the new showroom tax (and also an increase in annual tax to £140pa or £450pa) registered more cars so they would remain on their original lower tax CO2 based system.
