I want to buy a used Ford Fiesta but it's Cat D - what does this mean?
I am looking to buy a 2003 Ford Fiesta 1.3 LX 3-door hatchback. It says in the description that it is in excellent condition all round, and has a brand new timing belt and water pump plus a full service. However it says it is Cat D recorded. What does this actually mean, and should I still consider buying it? It is the best price I have found for one so far, but will it still be safe and what will the extent of the damage be if it is cat D?

It means an insurance company made a full settlement for it, but the car could later have been recovered either intact or with minor damage. See the FAQ at HJUK: www.honestjohn.co.uk/faq/insurance
