How do I adjust the handbrake on my R-reg Ford Mondeo?

Can you please confirm that the handbrake on an R-plate Ford Mondeo 1.8 LX is auto-adjust? If it is not, can you please tell me how to adjust it?

It will have rear drum brakes and won't have ABS. If there is no adjustment left you probably need new cables. There was a TSB on the model in about year 2000 to replace the rear brake's pressure compensator valve. It happened to some of our sale cars.
