Can I add a named driver to my policy and then transfer ownership to that driver later?

I'm buying a new car but it won't be ready until January. I want to transfer my old car to my daughter-in-law in December. Can I just add her to my car insurance and then transfer ownership when I get my new car?

Yes, you can as long as she is not the main user of the vehicle now. She would then need to get her own insurance policy when you get your new vehicle.
