How do I set the pump timing on my Mitsubishi Shogun?

Could you tell me please how to set up the pump timing on a 2.8 Mitsubishi Shogun turbodiesel? I put a new pump seal in today and I got the timing wrong.

We do not have specific details of each and every engine, and so cannot give specific details for your vehicle. However, the basics of timing the pump to the engine are that you need to set the engine at just before TDC (top dead centre) on number one cylinder (power stroke) then set the fuel pump so as to be injecting to number one cylinder. We would suggest that you get a workshop manual as this will explain how do do the task and what settings you need .
