Why do they not offer tyre guarantees in the UK?

On reading one of your articles, the point of different size of tyres was raised and you referred them to a tyre comparison site. Looking at this site (American) on some of the tyres particularly Michelin they come with a minimum mileage guarantee, 50,000 - 65,000 miles on some types. Are these the same make of tyre supplied in the UK? And if not why do they not have a mileage guarantee here?

Different tyre compounds, different speeds and very different (generally much straighter) roads out there. My brother got 55,000 miles of of the tyres on a Mitsubishi L200 4WD pick-up and I later found out why. The suspension and steering are aligned at every conceivable axle articulation at the end of the production line so, unlike almost all cars, they come out of the factory perfectly aligned.
