Abarth 500

I'm interested in buying the Abarth 500. I really like the car but I'm having second thoughts about it because of the hard suspension. I currently own a 1.4 Fiat 500 and while I like it, I hate it's ride quality. It crashes hard into potholes and is a pain to drive everyday. Because of it's hard ride it has developed all sorts of rattles and squeaks in the cabin. How does the Abarth 500 compares to the 1.4 500 in terms of ride quality? Is it anywhere near as bad?

You must have a pre-2010 model 500, like I have. The Abarth was the first 500 to get the improved suspension of the 500 based Ford Ka, which is softer at the back with more roll stiffness and nice, progressive rate dampers. But, and it's a big BUT, the Abarth is much nicer on standard 16" wheels than it is on the 17" wheels they try to push you into buying.
