What's the minimum mileage a car should do to keep it in good condition?
No single car meets all my needs. I'm prepared to have two, but only cover about 4000 miles a year in aggregate. I'm aware that under-used cars deteriorate badly. What's the minimum mileage a petrol car should do annually to keep it in good condition?

It's not the mileage. It's how the mileage is clocked up. A minimum of a single 30-mile run once a month at varying revs will keep it in shape. And use only Super petrol. That's what I have to do and it's worked for what is now a 10 year old car. Mess about with occasional five-mile runs and you'll mess up the car.
