Our 1997 TVR Chimera wont start immediately after stopping when hot (i.e stopping for petrol!!!) It will eventually but only after cooling down. Is that normal?

Just wondering were the starter motor is located on a Vauxhall Astra 2003 1.7DTi. I have looked everywhere and can't seem to see it. Have you any idea?
