Cadillac Seville STS (1998 – 2000) Verdict

2/5

+Comfortable, kit-laden saloon that pulls strongly and goes round corners well. Good value second-hand.

-Looks old-fashioned. Tyre noise is too instrusive. Lacks steering feel in very tight bends. In 2011, 266 left on the road and 69 on SORN.

Model History

January 0001

Big, squat car with reasonably restrained styling. Loaded with kit. Looks best in black. Very comfortable.

Powerful, low-maintenance 305 bhp 4.6 litre V8.

Not bad to drive, with strong acceleration, decent steering 'feel', good handling, nicely calculated traction control and anti-skid. Brilliant Bose stereo system (possibly the best standard in-car system available).

EC fuel consumption: 13.7/27.2/19.9, so 20 mpg possible. Automatic parking brake release.

3-year, 60,000-mile warranty with 24-hour assistance. Electrically folding door mirrors.

What to watch out for

01-01-0001:

Nearside suspension damage by drivers not able to judge the width.

Possibility of having previously been owned by undesirable people with enemies who know the car.
