Electrifying the Cupra brand for the first time, the Cupra Leon 1.4 e-Hybrid 245PS VZ2 accelerates from 0-62mph in 6.7 seconds and a has an official combined fuel consumption of up to 217.3mpg, with emissions as low as 30g/km (WLTP).
At the heart of the high-performance plug-in hybrid is a 150PS, 250Nm 1.4-litre TSI petrol engine; a 115PS electric motor; and 13kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Together these provide an impressive 245PS of power and 400Nm of torque.
Cupra Leon eHybrid has an electric-only range (WLTP) of 32 miles. When the battery needs recharging, it can be done in as little as 3 hours 42 minutes using a 3.6kW AC Wall box (or 5 hours 48 minutes from 230V domestic socket).
Deliveries to the UK begin before the end of the year (2020) for plug-in hybrid variants and early 2021 for pure-petrol models.

Cupra Leon revealed with hybrid power
A hot version of the new SEAT Leon, the Cupra Leon follows the Ateca in being sold as a standalone Cupra model. It's available in five-door hatch or estate body styles.
It uses the same 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine as the new Golf GTI. It comes with 245 or 300PS, while the estate version will be available with 310PS. There's also a plug-in hybrid model with 245PS.
The fastest model will accelerate to 62mph in 4.8 seconds, while top speed is limited to 155mph. All models come with a DSG automatic gearbox, while four-wheel-drive is standard on the estate.

Order books are now open for the Cupra Leon e-Hybrid with prices starting from £34,495 for a VZ2 model. Order books for pure-petrol variants will open early 2021.
Indicative prices for two petrol models reveal a starting price from £31,450 for the Cupra Leon 2.0 TSI 245PS, and £35,000 for the 2.0 TSI 300PS.

The Cupra Leon eHybrid always starts in all-electric mode (when the battery is sufficiently charged). The drive switches to Hybrid mode if the state of charge of the battery drops below a certain level or if the speed rises above 81mph. In Hybrid mode, the driver can pre-define a saved state of charge of the battery, only using the saved charge when within a low-emissions zone.
Priced at £34,495, the VZ2 e-HYBRID model offers a balance of sporty and premium design features and advanced technology as standard. The exterior features 19-inch machined sport black and silver alloy wheels and rear diffusers with twin exhaust pipes on each side that pay homage to the brand’s heritage, while trademark chrome and copper detailing and rear coast-to-coast lighting enhance the Cupra Leon’s premium feel.
Inside, the Cupra Leon continues its unique design cues, with drivers introduced to a stylish and distinct black cabin, with chrome and copper detailing, Cupra embossed racing bucket seats, a plush leather steering wheel and Cupra sports pedals all fitted as standard.
An advanced digital cockpit with Full Link integration (including wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto), 10-inch Media System Plus with smart navigation, ambient and wraparound lighting and a seven-speaker audio system provide a premium experience behind the wheel.
Four Cupra Drive profiles – Comfort, Sport, Cupra and Individual – offer drivers an unforgetable experience on every road, while an array of advanced technologies, including keyless start and entry, a Tiredness Recognition system, Lane Keeping System and Front Assist ensure the highest levels of safety.

Prices have been announced for Cupra's most potent performance estate to date, costing from £38,475 RRP for CUPRA Leon Estate 2.0 TSI DSG-auto 4Drive 310 VZ2 and rising to £40,535 for the top VZ3 trim.
Its sophisticated powertrain combines the latest iteration of the 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine with a DSG-auto transmission and 4Drive four-wheel drive system as standard to deliver exceptional all-weather capability and an exhilarating driving experience.
The renowned 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine produces 310PS and 400Nm of torque, enabling Leon Estate to accelerate from 0-62mph in just 4.9 seconds and on to a limited top speed of 155mph.
On the combined WLTP cycle, Leon Estate 310PS offers up to 34.4mpg and CO 2 emissions from 186g/km.
VZ2 equips Leon Estate 310PS with an extensive specification as standard, with 19” machined black and silver alloy wheels, the Leon’s signature LED exterior lighting, Media System Plus with Navigation and Full Link smartphone integration, ambient interior lighting, CUPRA’s distinctive copper interior detailing, sports bucket seats, Dynamic Chassis Control, keyless start and entry and three-zone climate control.
VZ3 adds 19” Aerodynamic machined sport black and silver alloys, wireless phone charger, heated front seats, leather upholstery, power driver seat and electric tailgate.

Cupra has introduced a new powertrain to its Leon range, with order books open from today.
The brand’s hot hatchback has received a new 245PS output of the 2.0 TSI DSG-auto powertrain, increasing the affordability of the Cupra Leon. Now available to order, prices start from £31,460 RRP for the VZ1 trim and rise to £32,695 for the VZ2 trim.
Available exclusively with the DSG-auto transmission, the latest iteration delivers 245PS and 370Nm of torque. The efficient turbocharged petrol engine powers the CUPRA Leon from 0-62mph in just 6.4 seconds, with a limited top speed of 155mph.
The brand says the 245PS 2.0 TSI provides a perfect balance between performance, efficiency and comfort, with all Cupra Leon variants including a host of performance design features and technology as standard.
The range kicks off with the VZ1 trim, which features 18-inch machined black and silver alloy wheels, sports bumpers, black brake calipers, Cupra's unique chrome and copper interior detailing, a flat-bottomed perforated leather steering wheel with gearshift paddles, sports bucket seats and a rear diffuser with oval quad (two either side) exhaust pipes.
A comprehensive selection of technology comes as standard too, with highlights including a digital cockpit, a 10-inch infotainment system with navigation and Full Link smartphone integration (compatible with Mirror Link, wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Google Android Auto), four USB-C charging ports, wraparound ambient interior lighting, illuminated door sills, three-zone climate control, cruise control with speed limiter, keyless entry and start and a rear view reversing camera.
VZ2 trim upgrades the wheels to 19-inch machined black and silver alloys and enhance the aggressive aesthetic of the CUPRA Leon, while adding dynamic chassis control that enhances the hatchback’s driving dynamics and ride.

Cupra Leon updated for 2021
The Cupra Leon is now available to order in two matte paint finishes – Magnetic Tech and Petrol Blue.
All variants of the Leon equipped with a DSG-auto gearbox will also benefit from a heated steering wheel as standard, while on Formentor, an electric tailgate is now an available option on V1 and V2 trims, and a top view camera can be added to the VZ2 and VZ3 trims.
CUPRA Leon e-HYBRID also gains a mode 3 charging cable as standard, enabling faster charging.
