That's such a shame. I live in the same town and have had 3 Volvos in the past. C&L are an excellent garage from a customer service perspective but this post was very ill advised.
Maybe they've got a new Trainee wot did Meejah Studies?

My late dad had his Volvo 360 serviced at C & L's. Only threw out the service documents yesterday - car scrapped years ago. 72 dudes, interesting to see you're not far away.

What a lot of drama queens!
It's one, possibly ill thought out, post Maybe there should be a sticky advising free advertising isn't allowed on the forum. Hardly grounds for complaining to Volvo UK or recommending people don't buy from them.

You may not realise, DieselBoy, that our organisation's main source of revenue is advertising. Advertisers won't be keen on paying for adverts if they see others getting it free.
It's important that idiots like this see that their attempts at free advertising are unproductive, and I'm grateful to people for responding as they have.

Avant - rather than just deleting the link from the OP, I would have thought you might delete the thread ASAP, perhaps sending a message to the poster pointing out his error. Keeping the OP in plain view is still a bit of advertising, even if rather negative perhaps ?

Rules already there for new members to read before posting. Blatant spamming is obviously not allowed and to me is evidence of unethical behaviour by the OP. Maybe their dealership is fine on the maintenence side etc (technical), but there's no excuse for this sort of stuff. No drama, just facts.

It is a drama, as the post could just have been deleted quietly, with an email sent to the OP. Instead, people are now boycotting the dealer and complaining to Volvo UK. That's not dramatic?

Oh yeah, sending an email to a spammer - that's great security advice! Nope, what is now shown here is a salutary lesson for ANY OTHER aspiring business owner trying to get free advertising (this site is run to make money - not just for us you know) that if they want to advertise, do it properly and contact HJ's sales team to get an ad placed on the site for a modest fee.
What they are doing is unprofessional, not a mistake, but a deliberate act to get free advertising on the sly. A competent (and honourable) dealer would know better and would not act in this way, and to be frank needs to be taught a lesson in good PR.
Just like Gillette will be after their latest 'advert'.

Oh do calm down. One post on an internet forum hardly qualifies as 'spamming'.

Yep and you have your Merc maintained at Alex Crow, n'est pas? If I remember correctly!
I had the E320 Cdi courtesey car 'Stan' on Tuesday, now done 246k miles, and still drives smooth as silk!

Indeed I do, wouldn't go anywhere else to service my W124. If people bought their car based on the service they get from who looks after it for them car purchasing could be different. Alex would be a reason for me having another Merc, but it won't be one of current line up. They're too bloated and the latest ones seem to be getting hit with the ugly stick. Lexus has a lot to answer for on the styling front.
I've had 'George' a couple of times but will see if I can have a different loan car next time

It feels strange to say this, BUT..
If I say that I have had excellent service from an MG (new) dealer close to me, that I didn't buy my latest acquisition from and a n other is happy with the op. then that is ok, but which one of us is "advertising".???
The Op website doesn't much look like an ovlov dealership any ways...
But as with the italian "lease " blog, why not just delete and say nothing...
Happy motoring all. and yes the MG Zs 2017 is regularly returning 40-41 MPG brim to brim.
Moi... lapin satisfait!

No, they recently separated the used cars from the new car franchise, and opened at a new site.on the other side of town. They tend to have all makes here rather than the Approved Used Volvos and Seats.

Not you, ORB, as you're a customer who has every right to praise good service. The Cecil and Larter outfit were promoting themselves.
