Amending the above post (a little) GM producing their "Small" us cars in a low cost centre, even with the "Trump tariffs"

In the MG, mated to the auto box (DSG?) it isn't very economical,

I'll try to post a link i previously found abot theses engines as there are some concerns, but there are concerns about all the 3 potters. Ithinl the KIA/hyundai 1.0 l 3cyl is exempt from theses problems

I have the 1.0 turbo engine in my 2016 Astra. Only done 25k so far so no idea how it would be at 100k. I love the engine and the way it provides quite lively performance as long as you are above 1,800 rpm.

I searched the web for any issues with the engine before purchase, but couldn't find anything to put me off. The LSPI only seems to affect the 1.4 turbos running on Dexos 2, Dexos 1 Gen 2 was introduced as the answer.
