Ford KA 1.3i (70) 05 Plate - Front Subframe replacement - dgrobo2000

Hi, My Ford KA failed its MOT on front subframe mounting corrosion. I am thinking of replacing the front subframe. I don't have a haynes manual to hand, could anybody tell me the procedure envolved and if the engine will have to be removed.

This is a substantial job which would be made a lot easier if the car was on a ramp/lift.The engine does not need to be removed,but will need to be suspended with either an engine hoist or crane.

Hi, My Ford KA failed its MOT on front subframe mounting corrosion. I am thinking of replacing the front subframe.

If it failed on front subframe mounting corrosion, it's not the subframe that needs changing, but that which it's mounted to!
