I dont think it was. A lashing eye and bit of chasis member appeared to be hanging on the end of the rope.

Looked like the bumper shock absorber to me. The driveway to the front of the car looked clear, why not pull the car forward then clear the snow behind it...but then I guess that would make as much sense to them as attaching the tow rope to the chassis in the first place.

Why not tow it in the other direction along the road, so they\'re pulling it away from the snowbank, instead of towards? Why not clear some snow? Why not stop the first time it goes crack instead of taking a run up next time? Why not tow with a taut line instead of accelerating away while it\'s slack?
I think it basically comes down to why not stop being a bunch of pink fluffy dice. I bet it was daddy\'s car too. :D

Clearly something fairly fundamental broke when that happened, you can see the bottom of the bumper pop outwards. Like it was going to stand up to being hauled through packed snow 2.5 feet deep, anyway....
What sort of car is it, anyway? Looks like a Geo of some sort.
