That's fascinating. Only trouble is the high consumption rate of 505.01 in many VAG engines. Apparently 1,000 miles a litre is deemed acceptable, at £12 a litre.

so that's £120 for 10K miles, as opposed to £27 for an semi-synth oil & filter change for a petrol car @Kwik Fit ?! .....

Polo 1.4 TDI PD

Never had to top mine up between yearly services admitted I only do about 4000 miles a year, but no movement on the dipstick. It has been pointed out on this forum a number of times, dont buy this oil from the dealers if you can avoid it. Millers Oils sell the same specification at around £20 for 5 litres
